SASA (Study Abroad Student Association)

SASA is an association for students who have studied abroad, who are going to study abroad, or are just interested in the world and other cultures. Our purpose is to exchange experiences about student’s time abroad, and help prepare others for future study abroad participation.

Contact us at or call 660-543-4195 for more information.

ISO (International Student Organization)

ISO is an organization at UCM that aims to cultivate an interest in, and to inform ourselves and others about international affairs.  Members of ISO desire to aid peace and friendship based on justice and freedom.

Our purpose is to bring together hundreds of cultures, represented on the UCM campus by international students, as well as local students and the community of Warrensburg. ISO activities include the International Culture Night, Food Show, volunteer opportunities, picnics, parties, and more.

Conversation Partners

This program is a service of the English Language Institute. We will match an international student with a domestic student to converse in English. The partners meet weekly for about an hour throughout the semester. The purpose of this program is to create cultural exchange, campus engagement, future-focused preparation, and an opportunity for service.

Contact or call 660-543-8796 to get involved.

Friendship Families

The Friendship Families program connects UCM international students with local families and individuals.  These connections can last well past the time that the student lives in Warrensburg; in fact often participants in the Friendship Families program find that they really do become like family.

Global Ambassador Program

Global Ambassadors are recently returned study abroad students who want to help promote study abroad at UCM by sharing their experiences, as well as serving as a resource for prospective study abroad students. Ambassadors will be active workers for the UCM Study Abroad program and will assist in major activities such as study abroad fairs, pre-departure orientations, visa workshops, and other functions and events. The primary mission for this program is to promote education abroad and provide a peer-to-peer support system to prepare prospective students to gain a worldly perspective through study abroad. As a global ambassador, you will be involved with the programming and marketing of the Study Abroad program. Semester tasks include active participation in major events, informational presentations to classes and campus groups, a social media "takeover", and work on a specific project under the supervision of a member of the study abroad staff. Though not a formal task, ambassadors must also be available to be connected with prospective students to answer questions via their student e-mail account.

Interested in finding out more? Contact Kasey Wagner at, or call (660) 543-4503.
