Getting Started at UCM
Here's a checklist to make sure you're ready for classes on day 1. If you are taking
classes online, be sure to review the information at UCM Online.
The official means of communication from campus (faculty, advisers, etc.) to students
is via the UCM email account (abc12340@ucmo.edu). All notices regarding enrollment, disenrollment, holds, advising, graduation, and
more will be sent to your UCM email account. Please check this account regularly.
In addition, messages may be sent to students in MyCentral. Log in to MyCentral at least weekly to check both campus announcements and personal announcements.
- Pay or establish a payment plan for charges by August 01.
- Ensure all financial aid eligibility procedures have been completed. Check your MyCentral
portal and UCM email
account regularly.
- Complete Haven - required for all new students (transfer, first-year, and graduate)
- Complete AlcoholEdu - required for all new freshman
- Request all high school/college final transcripts be send to the Office of Admissions
at admit@ucmo.edu.
- Students signed up for the Freshmen Kickoff can check in between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on
Thursday, August 12. Otherwise, check in is Sunday, August 15, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

- Students who don't already have a UCM ID card should visit the ID Center in Elliott
Union 207A (660-543-8443) (A photo ID and class schedule are required.)
- Adjust your class schedule, if needed. If you need assistance, or have any questions
regarding your class schedule, please check-in with your before making changes.
- Buy or rent textbooks at the University Bookstore. (UCM ID card and book list/class
schedule needed. Book list available at ucmbookstore.com. If paying with financial
aid, student ID also required.)
- Turn in immunization records to the University Health Center
The State of Missouri requires that all students living in University Housing must receive the meningococcal vaccine
after their 16th birthday. Exemptions are allowed for medical/religious reasons. Please
fill out exemption form along with immunization form if it applies to you.
- Sign up for Textcaster to get important alerts and notifications, and add 660-543-4123
to your cell phone contacts to reach campus police.
- Apply for a parking permit. If you plan to park on campus you will need to purchase
a parking permit.
- Know your computer IDs and passwords. If you need assistance, contact the Technology
Support Center at 660-543-4357 or tsc@ucmo.edu.
- Be sure to validate your enrollment in each class by attending the first day of all
face-to-face classes and by clicking the Enrollment Validation box in Blackboard for
all online/hybrid classes.
